Adding Updates to Posterous
If you can use email, you already know how to use Posterous. In fact, if your organization already has a mailing list it uses to share news, maintaining your new website won’t require any additional work. That’s all thanks to Posterous’ sole innovation.
Instead of reinventing the wheel and making you learn a new interface, all you have to do to update Posterous, is send an email to post@posterous.com. It’s that simple. Posterous knows what to do with your email because it can see who the email is from. If it’s from you, the title and contents of that email get added to your website.
To see this magic in action, check out the video below.
If you wanted to stop here, you could. Sending an email is all you really need to do. For everyone else, I’ll share a couple more useful tips.
Logging into Posterous
For more advanced options, such as editing posts you’ve already sent to Posterous, changing the title and web address of your site, and changing the look of your site, you need to log into Posterous.com.
Once there, logging in simply requires clicking on the Log in link and entering your username and password.
Editing Posts Already Sent to Posterous
Although you don’t have this luxury when sending out normal email updates, Posterous gives you the option to actually fix your mistakes or add new information later. Once you’ve logged into Posterous, simply click on Posts (1), then on the Edit button (2) next to the post you want to change.
Now you’ll find yourself in an interface not very different from your email interface. You can change whatever you’d like here and when you’re done, simply click on the Update button in the lower-right.

Changing Your Site Name, Address, and Look
Posterous has options to change the name and web address of your site (1) and also the look and feel of your site (2). To access these options, log in to Posterous.com and click on Settings in the upper-right. From here, you’ll see the options below. Once you find what you’d like to customize, simply click on the Edit button along the right.
There are also other areas available for customization within the Settings page, so browse around if you’re interested to make the most out of your Posterous site.
